Sports Injuries can occur via direct trauma or via repetitive strain injuries. Normally, direct trauma is as a result of a fall or collision with another player, a piece of equipment or an obstacle.
Repetitive strain injuries are caused by overuse of a particular body part or action. Even though they are more often than not associated with sport, repetitive strain injuries can also be caused at work. The overuse of a postural position, the over use of a tool as in carpentry or building or even sitting down for too long a period can lead to a repetitive strain.
With regard to Sports Injury Physiotherapy the therapists at our clinic not only work on repairing the injury but they also work with the sports person to help prevent a re-occurrence of the injury. This is called “preventive medicine”. We work with many sports people to assist them in preventing injuries. This is done through advice and maintenance programs.
Our therapists are highly qualified in the field of sports injuries.
